Masterworks series is everything one would classify as "classical". The design was purposeful. By accentuating this stereotype of classical music the orchestra was able to further it's existing base while separating this series from two other offered series. One of the orchestra's functions is keeping this genre of music alive, for art and education, so it was important to reinforce that image.
